Sonoma County weather is expected to mellow through the long Labor Day weekend after the mercury hit a high of 95 degrees in Santa Rosa Friday.
“It should be a fairly nice weekend,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Bob Benjamin.
Highs should be in the lower 80s Saturday with overnight lows in the 50s, according to the National Weather Service.
On Sunday, highs are expected to be in the upper 70s around Santa Rosa. Temperatures are likely too cool on Monday, with the mercury dropping to the mid 70s with a small chance of a passing shower, Benjamin said.
“There is low pressure that is moving into the Pacific Northwest and in association with that is some slight chance of showers,” he said. “But it’s ever so slight.”
On the coast, early morning fog is expected to burn off in the afternoon when high temperatures should reach the upper 60s, he said.
Temperatures across the area are expected to creep back up later in the week.
