Napa CHP officers were investigating a fatal crash Saturday on the Silverado Trail, said CHP officials Sunday.
A 70-year-old woman died after her Subaru rolled multiple times, stopping in a vineyard near Oakville Crossing, according to CHP Sgt. Aaron Rohner.
Her name was being withheld until her family could be told of the death.
The crash happened at 6:55 p.m. Saturday.
She’d been driving north on the trail, north of Yountville, when she lost control and her 2009 Subaru left the roadway.
It hit a concrete culvert, flipping the vehicle, Rohner said.
The woman was wearing her seat belt. There was no one in the car with her and no other vehicles involved.
She was taken by AMR ambulance to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa where she was declared deceased.
What led the woman to lose control remained under investigating and alcohol or drugs didn’t appear to be involved, according to a CHP report.
