Elizabeth Marie Stoner, 59, died Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
She’d been driving south near Todd Road when she apparently rear-ended another car, the CHP said. Stoner then got out of her car and started walking toward the west shoulder, across two lanes of traffic.
As she got to the slow lane, she was hit by a driver and killed.
The fatal collision closed the southbound lanes for about two hours, causing a massive traffic backup as drivers were rerouted.
