A Petaluma woman was arrested for vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving late Friday after her passenger was killed in a one-car collision on McDowell Boulevard, according to the Petaluma Police Department.

Nincy Flores Cruz, 26, of Petaluma was driving a white 1994 four-door Buick north on McDowell Boulevard from Professional Drive just before 11 p.m. when the vehicle collided with a tree in the center median.

Cruz’s female passenger was dead when officers and paramedics arrived. The victim’s name was unavailable Saturday, pending notification of her family.

Cruz suffered a minor injury to her finger and was transported to Petaluma Valley Hospital.

She was subsequently arrested for vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI. She was also driving without a license, according to police.

Cruz was booked into Sonoma County Jail with bail set at $50,000.

The collision is under investigation and police are looking for witnesses.
